According to academic studies a considerable amount of cell cultures is contaminated by mycoplasma. In order to control contamination and insure the safety of the products, the cell cultures have to be tested regularly using a reliable and sensitive assay. Current testing procedures are unsatisfying for the biotechnology industry and leading R&D laboratories, as they are time-consuming, laborious, costly and some even unreliable.

Our molecular rapid test for the detection of mycoplasma contamination in cell culture provides reliable results in just 30 minutes. Additionally, it requires less than 5 minutes hands-on time and runs on any PCR cycler. Therefore, our  mycoplasma assay allows you to test as often as needed. Prior to analysis no sample preparation (DNA/RNA extraction) is necessary, our product contains ready to use reagents for 10, 25, 50 or 100 reactions. The sample is simply to be mixed with the lysis buffer, enzyme and primers and directly analyzed using a standard real-time PCR cycler. Our product significantly reduces the risk of undiscovered contaminations saving time, labor and money.
